Certification
Certify your webhook endpoint for Go live.
Certification is a step of Go live. We make 6 Sandbox test payments and send their events to the webhook endpoint you choose, to check that it answers, verifies and handles a repeat. A pass counts for 90 days.
- 1Before you start
Add an enabled Sandbox webhook endpoint subscribed to
payment_intent.succeeded. A Developer, Admin or Owner starts the run in Go live → Certification. - 2What your endpoint must do
Verify each signature, store the event and answer 2xx within 10 seconds. Answer 2xx to a repeat of an event you already have, and use its event ID so you fulfill the order once.
- 3What a pass means
A run usually takes a few minutes. A pass completes the Certification step of Go live for 90 days. It does not open live payments on its own.
- 1A customer pays
The payment succeeds once, and your webhook endpoint is sent the payment_intent.succeeded event.Runs the Instant approval scenario.
- 2A customer declines
The customer turns down the prompt on their phone and nothing is charged.Runs the Customer declines the prompt scenario.
- 3The provider is slow to answer
The payment waits while we check with the provider, then succeeds once — never a second charge.Runs the Slow provider scenario.
- 4A payment expires
The approval window closes, we confirm nothing was charged, and the payment is marked expired.Runs the Customer doesn't respond scenario.
- 5A refund
A paid order is refunded once, and the refund is confirmed.Runs the Refund lifecycle scenario.
- 6Your webhook receives and ignores a repeat
Your endpoint receives the same event twice and answers 2xx both times. Use the event ID so you fulfill the order once.Runs the Webhook outage scenario.
